Role Overview:
As a Sr Risk Manager, Surveillance, within the Selling Partner Services (SPS) Internal Risk team, you will be instrumental in safeguarding the integrity of Amazon's platform and protecting our customers and legitimate selling partners. This role involves proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating internal risks, particularly those related to potential abuse, fraud, or policy violations by internal actors within the SPS ecosystem. You will lead the development and implementation of sophisticated surveillance strategies, leveraging data analytics and intelligence to detect emerging threats. Working closely with internal investigations, legal, compliance, and product teams, you will drive critical initiatives that enhance our risk posture and maintain trust across our global operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive risk surveillance strategies to proactively identify and monitor internal threats within Amazon's Selling Partner Services.
- Analyze complex data sets and intelligence sources to detect patterns of abuse, fraud, and policy violations, providing actionable insights to mitigate risks.
- Lead and support high-priority internal investigations, collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather evidence, assess impact, and recommend corrective actions.
- Design, implement, and optimize risk controls and detection mechanisms to prevent future occurrences of internal misconduct and enhance platform security.
- Provide expert guidance and consultation to business and product teams on internal risk management best practices and compliance requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in risk detection tools, methodologies, and processes, leveraging advanced analytics and machine learning capabilities.
- Prepare detailed risk reports and present findings, recommendations, and mitigation strategies to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders.

- Demonstrated expertise in risk management, fraud detection, internal audit, or compliance, with 5-12 years of progressive experience, preferably within a large-scale technology, e-commerce, or financial services environment.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective surveillance and monitoring programs to identify complex internal risks and vulnerabilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in leveraging data to drive insights and inform decision-making.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex risk scenarios and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience leading or significantly contributing to internal investigations, including evidence collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law, Computer Science, or a related field; a Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFE, CRISC) is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively while working on-site in Bangalore.
