Amazon is seeking a Manager Application Engineer to be a Robotics Process Automation Leader within the Finance Operations team. As a global shared service lead for Amazon this manager will drive the strategy, design and execution of the RPA Center of Excellence across all of Financial Operations. The technical leader must be results orientated and measure success with fact and data. This technical position requires domain expertise in order to cash and Accounts Payable business processes to: (1) build and invent, customer-centric automated solutions to improve productivity and speed while reducing defects (2) champion Lean and process simplification (3) partner with multiple technology teams to facilitate seamless automation (4) drive adoption of RPA and (5) develop and present ideas for continuous improvement and investment (6) Manage a global team of application engineers and drive team career development.
The Manager Application Engineer is a thought leader and change agent who focuses on systemic ways to improve accounts receivable and accounts payable performance. This position partners with cross-functional business and technical teams to maximize free cash flow, identify and resolve points of friction in the order-to-cash process and payment process with the goal of supporting our global shared services organization. They will manage a team through the implementation and monitoring of our Low Code Value Stream by ensuring that development initiatives are evaluated, toll-gated, developed and monitored with a high controllership bar. This is a high judgment role that requires someone who can develop cross functional relationships with various tech teams and stakeholders, navigate ambiguity, and take decisive action when necessary. The ideal candidate has both a strong technical acumen in the use of Robotics Process Automation as well as a keen eye towards process optimization. The Manager Application Engineering is capable of managing a team where the problem, opportunity and strategy may not be defined but leveraging expertise and judgement to determine the right stakeholders to inform decisions. This Technical lead is held accountable to defining goals and the long term strategy of the Robotics Process Automation Center of Excellence.
Key job responsibilities
. Lead the strategy, design and execution of a new RPA Center of Excellence
. Work cross functionally with process leaders, process analysts and technologists
. Showcase capabilities, cultivate use-cases and drive adoption of RPA
. Stays current with industry and Amazon best-practices
. Define and execute roadmap with speed and precision
. Ensure our bots meet a high bar on controllership, monitoring with recovery and policy adherence
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
. Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
. 5+ years as a manager of application engineers or software development engineers
. Experience running an RPA office, Center of Excellence or consulting practice
. Prior experience in business process mapping to identify defects and process re-engineering
. 5+ years of people management experience

. Hands on RPA and system integration experience inclusive of orchestration in/our of AWS services
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
. Experience launching AWS services in a large finance operations environment
. Masters degree in Computer Science or related field
. Six Sigma or Black Belt process re-engineering principles
. Ability to guide and influence senior leadership
