JOB DESCRIPTION FOR SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER

Job Title: Senior Design Engineer(Mechanical)

Department: Mechanical Design

Experience Required: 8 to 10 Years

Qualification: B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Job Purpose: To design, develop and validate any mechanical design for Electrical/Electronic Enclosures or Electro Mechanical Devices such as Actuators, Motors for defence and aerospace systems, ensuring compliance with thermal, Structural, EMI/EMC compliances applicable to Aerospace and Military applications.

We are looking to hire a Mechanical Design engineer( with minimum 6 years of experience. In this role, you will be required to meet with clients to determine their design requirements, plan and execute the design of mechanical devices, develop and test proto types and work closely with the Manufacturing teams to ensure that the design specifications are met.

Responsibilities:

• To create designs for new and existing mechanical systems & components (i.e enclosures for Elect/Electronic Units, Electro Mechanical Devices, Test jigs & Fixtures).
• To create 3D solid models & 2D-Technical drawings, General Assembly Drawings, using Computer Aided design softwares.
• Need to perform simulations & validate the designs for Thermal and Structural integrity compliance.
• Supervise the creation of physical prototypes and conduct performance tests to refine the designs.
• Need to work with various teams (PCB & Electronics) to ensure the design meets the specifications and requirements.
• Preparation of Master Drawing index, Quality Assurance Plan, Integration process document, Engineering Change Notes and maintain accurate records of design processes.
• Need to coordinate with Clients regarding design inputs & Technical requirements and with Inspection agencies, Vendors and testing labs for Inspection activities, Manufacturing & testing requirements.
• Perform GD&T application
• Selection of appropriate Material and Surface finishes
• Support prototype fabrication, assembly and testing activities.
• Conduct DFM/DFA review and coordinate with suppliers during manufacturing.

Skills:

• A bachelor degree in mechanical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and precision machining.
• Prior experience working as a mechanical design engineer( Min 8-10 Years)
• Strong verbal, communication & written skills.
• Sound skills in Solid works/AutoCAD & Basics of Ansys.
• Strong knowledge of FEA and Thermal Simulation Tools.
• Knowledge on GD&T, Materials, Manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
• Knowledge on Heat Treatment Process of materials.
• Excellent communication and Team Work Skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in defense, aerospace or communication product design.
• B. Tech / M. Tech in mechanical Engineering.
