Purpose of Position
The VP of Overseas Operations is the senior leader responsible for the overall management of the overseas credit union branches and the operations that support them. Works in unison with stateside operations to ensure that credit union products and services are provided to members to satisfy strategic goals. Collaborates with stateside department leaders to implement strategic plans, enforce compliance of regulations, and optimize operational efficiency to drive success in Euro markets. Reinforces the Andrews Federal vision, mission, and core values by serving as a culture agent, motivating employees to achieve higher standards, and promoting a commitment of excellence.

Essential Duties
The position’s essential duties include the following:
  • Oversight responsibility of five (5) branches and operation support for the Euro division to include locations in Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
  • Develop and track overseas operational budget.
  • Build and maintain excellent partnerships with military commanders and European banking liaisons.
  • Analyze and recommend products and services for military members and maintain military relations.
  • Network with military communities and maintain strong relationships with vendors such as MWR, Stars and Stripes, and AFN.
  • Develop strong company alignment & collaboration across departments ( Euro and Stateside).
  • Establish and implement short-and long-term organizational goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitor and evaluate effectiveness; make changes required for improvement.
  • Keep apprised of and adhere to all current and emerging international regulations governing financial institutions and provide guidance on compliance-related matters to include SOFA, GDPR, etc.
  • Ensure strong internal controls and reduce risk with a comprehensive audit strategy.
  • Supervise Euro Bill Pay Program to include compliance with set laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the compliance of policies and procedures for lending products, member service, and share deposit products.
  • Build collaboration with stateside Director of Sales and Service to deliver best practices and training for improved member experience.
  • Partner with stateside lending operations to enhance products and services for international members.
  • Responsible for meeting loan growth through the branch underwriting program to achieve annual scorecard goals.
  • Communicate effectively with stateside Vice Presidents to provide the best employee and member experience.
  • Actively partner and participate with the management team of the credit union and lead special organizational projects for the Euro division.
  • Complete Andrews Federals Business Secrecy Act (BSA) training program which includes receipt of a satisfactory testing score annually.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned .
Required KSAs ( Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of banking experience with two (2) or more years of progressive supervisory experience capacity leading a business unit.
  • Strong knowledge of overseas military banking structure/leadership and military banking regulations.
  • Familiarity with the German culture and ability to speak and write German preferred.
  • Working knowledge in consumer lending processes and procedures.
  • Practical expertise in monitoring and analyzing competitive products and services and the effective utilization of service centers in a credit union or banking environment is required.
  • Possess exceptional coaching and mentoring skills and be able to foster an environment of coaching and developing employees for performance and growth.
  • Demonstrated management, supervisory, and organizational abilities; strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to operate independently, and exercise significant latitude for independent judgment, discretion, and action.
  • Experience working in complex environments with a high degree of organizational effectiveness.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and exceptional organizational skills required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit at a desk and computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel internationally throughout Europe and stateside.
