Role: Business Associate

What you will do:

- Clearly understand the problem statement, business context, and expected outcomes before jumping into data extraction or writing queries.
- Translate ambiguous questions into structured analytical approaches and define the right metrics to measure success.
- Extract and manipulate large datasets using SQL, Excel, and basic Python to support experiments, funnel deep-dives, and business decision-making.
- Use proxy metrics and smart data approximations to move forward when perfect indicators are unavailable.
- Perform rigorous data cleaning, validation, and sanity checks, validating findings through multiple analytical approaches.
- Analyze lending funnels, customer journeys, and operational workflows across cohorts, partner segments, geographies, and timeframes to identify conversion drivers and drop-offs.
- Apply strong business context and logical reasoning to rule out false signals, evaluate alternative explanations, and estimate the impact of key drivers.
- Build intuitive Tableau dashboards and visual narratives that help teams monitor performance and act quickly.
- Run hypothesis-led analyses and experiment evaluations to recommend what to scale, fix, or stop.
- Take end-to-end ownership of analysis and insights, from problem structuring to storytelling and actionable recommendations.
Who you are:
- An engineering graduate with 1-3 years of experience from a well-regarded institution, or a postgraduate from a well-regarded MBA program with 1-2 years of experience in strategy, analytics, or data science.
- Naturally curious with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and a habit of questioning assumptions before accepting conclusions.
- A first-principles thinker who enjoys bringing structure to messy, unstructured problems and turning ambiguity into clarity.
- Comfortable working with SQL to extract, join, and manipulate data across multiple sources.
- Hands-on with Python for data cleaning, exploration, and analysis (Pandas, basic scripting, automation, etc.).
- Detail-oriented and rigorous - you instinctively validate numbers, question outliers, and don't move forward until the data makes sense.
- Able to communicate insights in a simple, sharp manner so that business teams can quickly understand and act on them.
- Self-driven, high-ownership, and comfortable working in fast-paced environments where priorities evolve quickly.
