Lead - Business Development - 3PL/Contract Logistics/Warehouse
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
- Target potential clients in e-commerce, retail, and manufacturing for warehousing solutions via cold calls, networking, and events.
- Build relationships with prospects and clients; assess needs and propose customized fulfillment and logistics options.
Sales Strategy and Team Management:
- Develop sales plans to acquire new business and grow portfolios; collaborate on proposals, tenders, and pricing.
- Manage a team of BD professionals and train them.
- Lead negotiations on contracts, SLAs, and deals to meet revenue targets.
- Manage and optimize P&L for assigned accounts or portfolios valued at minimum Rs 15-20 Cr, ensuring profitability and cost efficiency.
Market Research & Analysis:
- Perform in-depth market research to spot emerging trends, such as sustainable logistics and identify untapped opportunities in the Indian supply chain landscape.
- Analyze competitor offerings and client feedback to refine sales pitches, pricing models, and value propositions.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Provide exceptional post-sales support, acting as the primary point of contact to resolve issues and enhance client satisfaction.
- Partner closely with operations, warehouse, and fulfillment teams to guarantee seamless service delivery, on-time performance, and proactive problem-solving.
Reporting & Collaboration:
- Prepare sales reports and dashboards for leadership.
- Partner with internal teams (marketing, operations) for integrated client success and strategy support.
Key Skills & Qualifications:

Experience:
- 10-15 years in sales/business development in 3PL, warehousing, or logistics.
- Manage and optimize P&L for assigned accounts or portfolios valued at Rs 15-20 Cr, ensuring profitability and cost efficiency.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of supply chain, warehousing, and logistics tech (WMS/TMS).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficient in CRM (e.g., Salesforce) and MS Office (advanced Excel/PowerPoint).
Personal Attributes:
- Self-motivated, analytical, and adaptable in dynamic settings with up to 30% travel.
