Job Description
- As an Application Engineer specializing in Optimisation & Security, your primary responsibilities will involve designing and developing scalable software systems utilizing a 3-tier architecture. You will be tasked with creating and maintaining APIs (RESTful) to ensure seamless integration and secure data exchange, with a focus on secure communication protocols and JSON manipulation. Additionally, you will play a key role in building robust solutions for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) into both relational and non-relational databases.
Deploying applications to production environments using industry-standard tools such as IIS, Python frameworks, and Node.js will be a crucial part of your role. You will also be responsible for analyzing and maintaining existing software systems, diagnosing issues, and providing effective solutions across diverse programming languages and frameworks. Implementing security measures, including data encryption and secure authentication methods like OAuth 2.0 and JWT, will be a key aspect of your job.
Furthermore, you will be involved in developing and presenting interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI for managerial and operational audiences. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to identify business requirements and implement tailored automation solutions will be essential. Providing ongoing technical support, maintenance, and enhancements for existing applications and systems, as well as ensuring accurate documentation of engineering designs and solutions for future reference, will also be part of your responsibilities.
To be successful in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related engineering field, along with a minimum of 7 years of experience in programming and software engineering. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, Node.js, Java, or equivalent technologies is required. Additionally, you should have a strong understanding of relational databases (SQL Server) and non-relational databases (MongoDB) or similar systems.
Experience in deploying applications to production environments using industry-standard tools and technologies, familiarity with API development, API security, compliance with industry standards, and the ability to analyze, debug, and improve complex software systems are also essential requirements. Knowledge of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, or natural language processing will be advantageous. A strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and effective communication and teamwork abilities are crucial for this role.
