Executive Housekeeper

Position Overview

The Executive Housekeeper leads and manages all housekeeping operations within the resort to ensure exceptional cleanliness, guest comfort, and operational efficiency. This role oversees guest rooms, public areas, laundry operations, and all housekeeping staff while upholding brand standards and delivering a high level of guest satisfaction. The Executive Housekeeper collaborates closely with Front Office, Maintenance, and Food & Beverage to support seamless resort operations.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

  • Oversee, train, and mentor the housekeeping team including supervisors, room attendants, public area attendants, and laundry staff.
  • Create staffing schedules based on occupancy forecasts and operational needs.
  • Conduct daily departmental briefings and ensure consistent communication across all shifts.
  • Promote a positive, productive work environment, fostering teamwork and high morale.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure all guest rooms, suites, villas, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and resort facilities meet brand cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Develop and maintain housekeeping procedures, checklists, and quality control systems.
  • Inspect rooms and public areas regularly; follow up on deficiencies.
  • Coordinate closely with Maintenance/Engineering to address repair needs.

Guest Service & Quality

  • Respond promptly to guest requests, concerns, and special preferences.
  • Implement service recovery practices to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Review guest feedback and adjust department practices to improve performance.

Budget & Inventory Management

  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, expense forecasts, and Human Resource costs.
  • Maintain and control inventories of linens, guest supplies, cleaning chemicals, uniforms, and equipment.
  • Source vendors, approve purchase orders, and ensure cost-effective procurement.
  • Establish pars and manage stock rotation to reduce waste.

Safety, Compliance & Sustainability

  • Ensure compliance with resort policies, local regulations, and sanitation standards.
  • Oversee proper handling and storage of chemicals and equipment.
  • Conduct regular safety training, including PPE use and emergency procedures.
  • Support sustainability initiatives such as linen reuse programs, eco-friendly chemical use, and energy-efficient processes.

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain up-to-date records including payroll, attendance, inspections, inventory logs, and training documentation.

  • Prepare reports for management regarding performance metrics, productivity, and guest satisfaction.
  • Participate in department head meetings and contribute to resort-wide programs.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proven experience in housekeeping management, preferably in a resort, luxury hotel, or large hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping processes, chemical safety, equipment handling, and laundry operations.
  • Ability to manage budgets, analyze data, and optimize labor.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Familiarity with Hotel Softwares
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced resort environment with frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Interaction with guests, team members, and vendors on a daily basis.
  • Requires attention to detail and the ability to respond quickly to operational needs. Role & responsibilities
