About The Role
The position of Power BI Developer holds a range of responsibilities focused on design, development, and management of BI solutions using PowerBI. Requires a deep understanding of PowerBI and its capabilities, as well as the ability to work with data and communicate it in a user-friendly manner.
This role requires in addition leadership and project management skills, working with direct collaborators, namely in Business Systems Team.

Role and Responsibilities

• Working closely with the business collaborators to understand their requirements and translate them into PowerBI solutions.
• 
  Designing the overall BI solution architecture (both functional and technical)
• Following standard methodologies for data governance, security, and privacy within PowerBI projects
• Creating and running interactive visualizations and dashboards (or mobile app prototypes) that effectively communicate data insights (Data visualization).
• Optimizing reports and dashboards for speed and performance
• Documenting the technical design and operational procedures related to the BI solutions.
• Supervising PowerBI projects from conception to completion, ensuring they meet business needs and are delivered on time.
• Ensuring the quality of the BI solutions through testing and validation.
• Providing training and support to end-users to help them make the most of the PowerBI solutions.
• Understanding the data model and hence what is or is not possible.
• Liaise with the data team to suggest required changes on data side to work towards “as far downstream as possible”.
• Undertaking appropriate data transformation, if required on BI side
• Data validation and quality checks to ensure dashboards behave as desired
• Guiding the customer during acceptance testing
• Logging and investigating customer support issues and questions
• Work to agreed timelines whilst sustaining quality outcomes
• Create and maintain a standardized, standard methodology development frame work
• Lead and guide potential additional BI resources (internal or external)
• The responsible in this role will have the opportunity to propose new solutions, either within the existing Power BI setup or to suggest how additional functionality could better support the business.

Crucial Skills And Experience

• Professional experience in Business Intelligence with at least 3 years hands on experience with Power BI.
• Proven track record of different Power BI use cases. A certification is desired
• A very good knowledge of user experience design for BI solutions allowing to suggest possible design options in the prototyping phase
• Ability to understand and translate business ideas into dashboard solutions as well as to appropriately connect with business collaborators directly

Get Hired
• Knowledge and usage of neighbouring Microsoft applications – like Power Apps and Power Automate - is of advantage
• First team lead experience / playing the role of senior point of contact among multiple BI developers required
• In depth knowledge of working with different data sets under standard methodology approaches required (master keys, key linkage, star schema, etc)
• Basic SQL skills for data exploration and data testing
• An ability to detect challenges early and to raise it
• Attention to detail to ensure any reports released have accurate data
• A proactive approach and focus on team success
• A strong command of English and effective communication skills
• Excellent analytical and logical thinking
• Highly motivated self-starter, driven for results, effective at prioritizing and managing multiple tasks concurrently
• Good communication and presentation skill
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
