In this role, you will help lead the UX portion of our product development process for multidisciplinary agile R&D teams consisting of product managers, developers, data analytics specialists, service operations agents-and of course, our customers-to define, design, and test workflows that empower medical practice staff to efficiently and effectively manage the business of patient care while keeping the needs of the patient front and center.

You will rethink and redesign the process of configuring athenaOne in a way that streamlines the work our internal teams do and helps our practice clients enjoy a seamless experience.

As a successful candidate, you will be a champion for our users and embrace the challenge of solving complex problems that present the greatest opportunities to ease the burden on healthcare workers by removing obstacles and creating better paths. You will develop a clear point of view about UX decisions and trade-offs in collaboration with product and engineering leads. Youll function well both independently-making well-informed design decisions on your own-and in collaboration with cross-functional partners in product, engineering, and other disciplines.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct primary and secondary research
• Design scalable, web-based product experiences
• Map out processes and identify opportunities for efficiency
• Produce detailed designs and specifications for team projects
• Identify opportunities for improvement in existing products
• Make trade-offs and decisions about project scope, design strategy, and implementation
• Seek out and incorporate feedback from users and cross-functional teams
• Promote and demonstrate design best practices for product owners, engineers, and junior design collaborators
• Proactively foster relationships across scrum teams to support cohesion and consistency throughout the user experience

• 8+ years of professional design experience, preferably in enterprise, financial, or healthcare systems
• Experience solving highly complex user problems
• Self-directed and comfortable making decisions without perfect information
• Interest in developing a deep understanding of the U.S. healthcare space
• Interest in or experience working with agile/scrum teams
• Ability to articulate rationale for design decisions
• Portfolio demonstrating strong problem framing, design communication, interaction design skills, and attention to detail
