Liferay Developer - Java

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain applications and portals on Liferay DXP/Portal.
• Customize Liferay themes, layouts, portlets, and hooks as per business requirements.
• Implement and configure workflows, roles, permissions, and user management in Liferay.
• Integrate Liferay with external systems (ERP, CRM, ECM, SSO, REST/SOAP APIs, etc.
• Troubleshoot and resolve portal issues, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with business analysts, UX/UI teams, and other developers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Perform upgrades and migrations between Liferay versions.
• 
  Create technical documentation, unit tests, and deployment guides.
• Support DevOps and CI/CD processes for Liferay deployments.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5- 8 years of hands-on experience with Liferay DXP / Liferay Portal.
• Strong proficiency in Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, and JSP/Servlets.
• Experience with Liferay portlet development (JSR 286), OSGi modules, and service builder.
• Knowledge of frontend technologies : HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, React/Angular (preferred).

• Familiarity with databases : MySQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with REST/SOAP web services integration.
• Understanding of portal concepts : SSO, roles/permissions, content management, and workflow.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools (Maven/Gradle, Git, Jenkins, Docker, etc.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Liferay DXP 7.x or later versions.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum methodology
