Data Engineer - Ruby On Rails/ETL

Job Summary :
Were looking for a Data Engineer to modernize our data infrastructure, evaluate our large-scale Couchbase system, and potentially migrate to MySQL or a hybrid solution.
Youll build reliable data feeds to partners like Google, Amazon, and Feedonomics, and create dashboards and reports for finance and leadership teams.
Our core stack is Ruby on Rails, with Python used for data processing.
Strong communication skills are essential for working with our U.S.-based team.
Responsibilities

• Assess and implement the best long-term data storage approach (Couchbase MySQL, on-premises, or hybrid).
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines in Ruby (with Python where appropriate).
• Create and manage data feeds to Google, Amazon, Feedonomics, and other partners.
• 
  Deliver financial and operational reports to support leadership and finance.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with leadership, finance, and product teams on data needs.
  

Requirement

• 3 to 5 years of professional experience in data engineering or backend development.
• Strong experience with Ruby (Rails background preferred).
• Solid SQL skills and experience with relational databases (MySQL, Postgres, etc.)
• Experience with NoSQL (Couchbase, MongoDB, etc.) and handling large-scale datasets.

  Get Hired
  Background in building ETL/ELT pipelines and API-driven feeds.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills (written and spoken English).
  

Good To Have

• Python for data workflows (Pandas, Airflow, dbt, etc.)
• Experience with data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift) and hybrid data architectures (on-prem + cloud).
• Experience with Feedonomics, Google, or Amazon integrations.
• Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, etc.)
