Lead Designer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Designer to drive innovative and strategically minded design solutions for our corporate workplace projects. This role requires hands-on involvement in all phases of design, from concept to execution, while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio demonstrating their expertise in workplace design, excellent communication and presentation skills, and proficiency in industry-standard design tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead interior design assignments, including detailed programming, conceptual design, space planning,

schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.

Provide design leadership and strategic direction for the organization, production, and execution of

design projects.

Provide design direction to junior and associate designers on specific projects while reporting to the Studio Head and fostering a Design studio culture which includes brainstorming, collaboration, design review and feedback.

Work closely with internal/external teams, professional consultants, and strategic partners to ensure

seamless collaboration.

Select and present furniture, finishes, and lighting while ensuring appropriate specifications and

Procurement.

Work with product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators to align with client design and budgetary goals.

Communicate and present design concepts and rationales effectively, adapting to client requirements, budget constraints, and architectural opportunities.

Utilize 3D modeling and rendering software, such as Revit, SketchUp, Enscape, and Adobe Creative

Suite, to develop and refine design solutions.

Generate detailed interior architectural drawings, including finish plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, details, specifications, and schedules.

Ensure sustainable and universal design principles are integrated into all projects.

Maintain and strengthen client relationships, ensuring their vision is realized through thoughtful design solutions.

Develop test fits and space planning solutions in alignment with project objectives.

Promote interdisciplinary design approaches that align with Awfis commitment to design excellence such as but not limited to the use of AI tools, Code writing for automations, R&D in the design industry.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Strong expertise in corporate workplace design, demonstrated through a robust portfolio

showcasing all project phases.

Proficiency in design software including Revit, SketchUp, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Knowledge of AI tools such as Geminis Nano Banana, ChatGTP, Canva.

Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials and their proper specifications.

Experience with sustainable design practices and certifications for the built environment.

Excellent graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas.

Strong leadership, project management, and mentoring capabilities.

Ability to manage multiple projects at various stages while maintaining a high standard of quality.

Exceptional problem-solving skills, emotional intelligence, and adaptability in handling complex situations.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are an absolute must, both for representation of the company to client and for internal collaboration and mentoring of the team.
