About the Role Procurement Engineer (Civil Power Plant Projects)

The Procurement Engineer Civil for power plant projects is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement of civil materials and services required for power generation infrastructure. This role ensures technical compliance, timely deliveries, vendor coordination, and cost optimization, supporting uninterrupted project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Civil Procurement & Vendor Management

• Manage procurement of civil materials including cement, steel, aggregates, formwork, structural concrete, waterproofing systems, and finishing materials for power plant projects
• Obtain quotations, prepare commercial comparisons, and evaluate vendors for technical and commercial suitability
• Maintain approved vendor lists and coordinate vendor pre-qualification processes
• Track PO status, order delivery schedules, and vendor performance

Technical & Specification Compliance

• Review BOQs, drawings, and specifications specific to power plant civil works
• Ensure materials comply with project standards, authority regulations, and safety requirements
• Coordinate with design engineers, site teams, and consultants for material approvals and compliance
• Support material testing, sample approvals, and technical submittals

Site & Project Coordination

• Coordinate with site engineers and project managers to align procurement schedules with construction timelines
• Support site teams during material inspections, handovers, and quality verification
• Provide technical input for substitutions or value engineering while maintaining project compliance

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain procurement records, vendor correspondence, material logs, and expediting reports
• Track budget allocations, cost optimizations, and procurement KPIs
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, HSE standards, and audit requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• 510 years of experience in civil procurement for power plants, industrial, or heavy infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of civil materials, construction standards, and technical specifications
• UAE / GCC project experience preferred

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of civil construction and power plant project requirements
• Experience in vendor management, expediting, and contract coordination
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, BOQs, and specifications
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with vendors and internal teams
• Proficiency in ERP / procurement software and documentation tools
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work in fast-paced, project-driven environments
