Job Description
- As an Assistant Vice President (AVP) - Controls Testing and Assurance at Barclays in Noida, your role will involve partnering with the bank to provide independent assurance on control processes and advise on improvements to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the bank's internal controls framework.
You will collaborate across the bank to maintain a satisfactory, robust, and efficient control environment by executing ad-hoc assessments and testing on the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls, in alignment with control policies and standards. Developing detailed test plans and procedures will be crucial to identify weaknesses in internal controls and other initiatives aligned with the bank's control framework to mitigate potential risks and issues.
Communicating key findings and observations to relevant stakeholders and business units will be essential to improve overall control efficiency and provide corrective actions to senior managers. Collaborating with other control professionals to resolve complex issues and ensure consistent testing methodologies across the bank will also be part of your responsibilities.
Furthermore, you will be expected to develop a knowledge center containing detailed documentation of control assessments, testing on design and operational effectiveness of procedures, findings, and distributing material on internal controls to train and upskill colleagues within the bank.
If the position has leadership responsibilities, you are expected to advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Leading a team performing complex tasks using well-developed professional knowledge and skills to impact the whole business function will be a key aspect. Setting objectives, coaching employees, and appraising performance relative to objectives are also part of your role.
For an individual contributor, leading collaborative assignments, guiding team members through structured assignments, and identifying the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialization to complete assignments will be crucial. Identifying new directions for assignments and projects, as well as consulting on complex issues, will also be part of your responsibilities.
Overall, you will collaborate with other areas of work, engage in complex analysis of data, communicate complex information, and influence stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
