Hybrid Working 
Structured hybrid role:
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction 

The EaaS (Environments as a Service) Evolution Team is responsible for managing and maintaining monitoring and Alerting solution for non-prod environment availability, in a cost effective manner for various Transactions Cycle Applications. This role is key to ensuring environment availability for testing by proactive Monitoring and Alerting of Infrastructure and Application components. Where issues occur you will work with Application support teams to ensure effective and timely resolution takes place and provide accurate communications to our stakeholders.

• The Evolution Team will be responsible for managing and maintaining monitoring and Alerting solution for non-prod environment across various transaction cycles.
• To work closely with the Lead Environment Manager and EaaS Leads to own and implement proactive and effective Monitoring and alerting solution
• To escalate and report as required. 
• Support DevOps initiative to move our current applications in a delivery model that supports Cloud, CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment of infrastructure as code.
• A defined process leading to waste removal & continuous service improvements (CSI)
• Regular reporting against defined KPIs
• Implement lesson learnt in one Application area to all Applications supported by EaaS

• Near production level Control & Governance with regular tracking.

What will you be doing?
• Maintain High availability of non-production environments by managing proactive and effective monitoring & alerting of test infrastructure.
• Preserve and enhance the knowledge base of Environment Monitoring and Automation activities by appropriate documentations.
• Have a good understanding of common infrastructure components, how they fit together and interact.
• Demonstrate understanding and value of effective monitoring and alerting.
• Be calm under pressure, intelligent and articulate with a strong telephone manner. 
• Demonstrate examples of innovation and enhancement. 

What we’re looking for:
• Working experience on Linux and/or Windows System
• Working Experience on PHP & Python
• Knowledge of Oracle and other relational Databases
• Ability to work under pressure and to manage others in same situation whilst ensuring that quality is maintained.
• Bachelor/Master’s Degree in computer science or any equivalent engineering discipline.

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Working experience in Angular, NodeJS, etc.
• Conversant with SDLC methodologies like Agile and SCRUM.
• Good understanding of AWS, Terraform, Chef, OpenStack, Containerisation and Cloud models – IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Infrastructure virtualization.
