Introduction:
The key function of the Products Onboarding team is performing the required processes in order to effectively On-board clients and accounts to trade with Barclays. This includes performing Regulatory, Legal and other control checks to facilitate on-boarding of products. This role is generally not external-client facing, but there is a high amount of interaction with various internal teams, including Sales, Trading, Middle Office, KYC, Legal, and other areas.
What will you be doing?
The Products Onboarding team (part of Client Operations Group) is an integral part of the Global Operations Division and supports a wide variety of activities across a range of financial markets globally.
- Verify and approve products raised by multiple on-boarding teams
- Ensure all the product specific requirements are fulfilled before products are approved.
- Ascertain all the products have an underlying legal document in place before it is approved.
- Ensure Incomplete documented products are transferred to the legal department.
- Respond to queries regarding the status of specific requests.
- Depending on level expertise, working closely with team leads to help input into initiatives
- Build KPIs and MI Reports for management periodically
- Reviewing control reports, investigating and resolving breaks.
- Monitor Barclays internal workflow queue and ensure all the product requests are attended, verified and approved.
- Perform necessary tasks/control checks during on-boarding process (e.g. to comply with global and local regulatory requirements)
- Work closely with Business, KYC, legal and operations team to facilitate smooth on-boarding process.
- Liaising with management of Legal negotiation team to ensure that new documentation requirements are embedded into procedures.
- Ensure products with incomplete documents are allocated to legal team using legal workflow management system.
- Review multiple control reports to ensure deliverables are met without compromising the legal and regulatory framework of the process.
- Reviewing multiple queues to minimize aged requests and ensuring data quality.
- Supporting ad hoc project requests
- Review the F2B process on an ongoing basis, identify patterns and trends to streamline the Onboarding process and increase service quality
- Build KPIs and MI Reports for management periodically
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
- Relevant years of prior experience in client on-boarding related roles in an Investment Bank
- Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
- Be an effective and articulate communicator via e-mail and telephone especially important when communicating requirements and managing Client / Business expectations.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to adopt and maintain a logical approach in a pressurized environment.
- Investigative in nature with a knack for seeking information.
- Confident individual who is comfortable with multi-tasking.
- Highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong team player.
Skills that will help you in the role:
- Good understanding of the mechanics of an Investment Bank setup.
- Knowledge of regulatory implications of different asset classes.
- High literacy in industry standards such as FACTIVA, World Check, ALACRA, Orbis etc.
- Understanding of investment banking products eg. Fixed Income, FX, Derivatives
- Experience with Legal Documentation (ISDA, MRA, MSLA, MSFTA, etc)
- Knowledge of principal only and agent-principal set-ups eg. hedge fund, pension fund, trusts
