Hybrid Working 

Structured hybrid role:

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction:

The role holder will provide analysis based on business requirements, problem solving and change management skills in support of BUK Controls Automation programmes. This will require excellent business and data analysis skills and the ability to balance delivery based on the prioritisation.

The role holder will be a lead developer focusing on building and servicing controls for products hosted on the new NGCB platform. This will require in depth knowledge of unsecured lending products, particularly credit cards, in addition to excellent business and data analysis skills and the ability to balance delivery based on prioritisation.

What will you be doing?

Controls Automation Data Analysis and Tech Expertize – 80%

This is a Senior Data Analyst –AVP position with Controls automation team which would involve the following

•Work on Control requirements received business, analyse data (SQL, HQL) and build/customize the code (on Teradata / Hadoop) appropriately to automate these controls for BUK 

•Work closely with business to understand business requirements and processes and ensure controls are developed as per requirements and mitigate required risks.

•Be closely involved in Tech design and solutioning discussions, owning db governance, tech processes etc

•Ensure full accountability of delivery for their workstream – ensuring meeting Deadlines for Control implementations.

•Responsible for producing RAIDs, outlining technical details & contributing to Stage 0/1 efforts by collaboratively working with delivery lead, designers/ Tech Leads, E2E designers and other O&T teams.

•Experience on one or more additional technologies in the platform namely Spark, Vantage, Teradata, SQL

•

Ensure adherence to coding standards and to JIRA and other governance mechanisms

•Maintain traceability of requirements & be accountable for the solution through all phases of project lifecycle (design, build testing through into live implementation)

•Ensure Designs comply to Barclays standards and policies (for Security, Data privacy, Accessibility)

•Design reusable solutions that adhere to pre-defined patterns as outlined by Portfolio Design Lead and/or Architecture teams. Reusability factor needs to be measured per design.

•Design for Non-functional requirements ensuring impacts on Infrastructure are highlighted. Implementation of Alerting/Monitoring solution for the project/service should be a part of the design.

•Design walkthroughs with development and test team. Handhold development team in the implementation of technical solutions, if required.

•Conduct Design Reviews for the Portfolio along with the Portfolio Design Lead, participate in platform strategy discussions with the Portfolio Design Lead and Architects

•Participate in KT sessions to support teams. Support the ADM on CAB calls where required.

Team Management & Line Management - 10%

•Provide coaching, mentoring & career progression support for direct reports.

•Actively identify development needs with all team members and provides feedback into their development plans.

•Ensure Barclays processes and governance is followed. 

•Actively demonstrate Barclays Behaviours and acts as a role model for others

What we’re looking for:

• Extensive experience using Barclays Information Warehouse, particularly BIW 2.0
• In depth knowledge of Barclays’ Credit Card products, specifically Barclaycard and Arrow, their BIW data structures and key features
• Expert level SQL, Hive, Spark & Teradata knowledge, Barclays Platforms, MFT Setup and architecture.
• Proven track record of building complex controls at pace, to a high quality standard
• Able to lead a team of developers to build a group of controls, providing thought leadership and expertise
• Knowledge of SITUATOAT and performance processes essential to the delivery cycles
• Strong understanding of Controls codes and ability to review existing codes and fix them. 
• Adhering to standards and patterns for implementation of reusable solutions and creation of assets for the platform.
• Good understanding of unsecured lending business and operational processes 
• Must be able to demonstrate excellent stakeholder management, highly skilled in communication both written and spoken, strong presentation skills and strong and influential personal credibility
• Excellent Interpersonal skills, articulation, presentation and reporting skills
• Demonstrated track record of working with teams spread across different geographical locations
• Minimum qualification BE/BTech.

Skills that will help you in the role:

•Awareness of and experience in the use of relevant tools like JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint etc.

•Exposure to assessing and industrializing new tools/technologies/platforms

•Knowledge of regulatory, legal, group Risk focussed implementations will be preferred
