Overall purpose of role
The role holder will be responsible for routine processing, controls and reporting for BBplc Monaco branch, incorporating accounts payable, market risk controls and regulatory reporting preparation s well as month-end close activities.
Core accountabilities
The role holder will have the following primary areas of accountability:
1.Accounts Payable
The role holder will process third party invoices for the BBplc Monaco branch, ensuring correct approvals have been received and that the invoices are booked to the correct account lines and cost centres, and submitted for payment on a timely basis.
2.Market Risk Reporting
The role holder will prepare and distribute daily market risk monitoring controls, identifying and investigating unusual items and liaising with other teams (e.g. trading, operations and technology) to find explanations.
3.Barclays Private Asset Management SARL accounting
The role holder will perform the end to end accounting and controls for this small entity, ensuring all routine journals are accurately processed and all entries are understood.
4.BBplc Monaco accounting
The role holder will prepare and book routine monthly journals in the source ledger, comfortable in explaining the rationale for each journal, investigating and explaining month on month variances, and ensuring each entry is booked accurately and on time.
5.Regulatory and VAT reporting
The role holder will prepare routine monthly regulatory reports and quarterly VAT returns in accordance with procedures, investigating and explaining material month on month movements.
6.General tasks and team support
The role holder will support a variety of other activities across the finance team including ad hoc tasks and providing cover for absences for other team members.
Role requirements
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards
Professional/technical experience
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of standard banking products and French accounting rules as well as a working knowledge of Avaloq and SAP.
Academic and professional qualifications
The successful candidate will have some accountancy qualification; or equivalent work experience.
The ideal candidate should have advanced skills in Excel and a basic knowledge of VBA is an advantage.
