To be successful as a FX One Application Developer - Java, you should have experience with:
Basic/ Essential Qualifications
- Excellent Java programming skills.
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs.
- Strong knowledge of Spring & Spring Boot.
- Strong knowledge of standard development and build tools, e.g. GIT, TeamCity.
- Experience of Java unit testing practices, ideally JUnit.
- Multi-Threading and Concurrency, OOPS concepts, Exception Handling, JVM Concepts.
- Experience working with application containers e.g. Docker.
- Experience of working with a micro service distributed architecture, cloud infrastructure and principles, Kubernetes.
- Experience with Solace messaging technology
- Investment banking experience, ideally working on a front office trading application (FX).
- Experience of database ORMs e.g. SpringData Mongo.
- Experience of database Mongo DB.
- A team player who takes initiative and can influence the development of the system.
- Able to effectively work and collaborate with global teams
- Technology/Engineering university degree.
- Full-lifecycle development of at least 1 large commercial system, with ideal candidate focusing on significant development in a commercial capacity.
Purpose of the role
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities
- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organizations technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

- To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions.
