Role Title: Head of Business Management, International Corporate Banking

Location: London, UK

What will you be doing:

The Head for ICB and Wholesale Lending will report to the head of BM for Investment Banking, and will be the primary business stakeholder being the Head of ICB and Head of Wholesale Lending. The role will be the key operating partner to the Heads of ICB and WL, and have oversight of business management support to ICB globally, and ensure overall alignment with Investment Banking strategies and priorities.

Key Accountabilities

·Support the day to day running,profitable performance, growth and future strategy of ICB across segments, sectors and geographies.

·Work closely with the Head of ICB and WL in the day to day running of thebusinesses, chairing key committees including ICB Management Team (ICB MT),supporting the strategy andthe execution of short, mid and long-term actions and manage priorities across the business.

·Oversee the Support provided to ICB and sector heads providing business management support for the day to day running of the business, driving strategy and execution.

·Where necessary, flex the priorities and focus areas of the team to reflect those of wider coverage prioritieswhile also providing consistent delivery and high quality support on longer term commitments.

·Ensure a robust controls framework is in place and maintained across thecoverage business meeting ERMF principles.

·Drive and maintain close, effective collaboration with multiple functions and partners including other Investment Banking coverage and product teams, Product, Operational Rigour, Chief Controls Office, Compliance, Internal Audit, Operations, Technology, Risk as required in the day to day running of the business.

·Respond to priorities and requirements for activities with CIB MT, IB MT and stakeholders across the wider Barclays International business as appropriate.

·Support the Head of Business Management Investment Banking, the Head of ICB and Head of Wholesale Lendingin fulfilling their responsibilities as Accountable Executive (AE) for various programmes, initiatives and/or Forums, deputising when required.

·Operate as AE, Chair or Sponsor for a variety of projects, programmes, forums and/or initiatives as required.

·Oversee and drive client selection, market management, and client strategy for ICB Globally, with particular focus on Treasury Coverage. 

What we’re looking for:

·Experience in driving business performance, and complex change projects

·Experience of scale and international business with understanding of end to end (processes, departments/teams typically involved end to end, client experience/journeys for core banking transactions/products)

·Experience of wholesale financial services – preferably with direct experience of working in a Corporate Banking or Investment Banking environment

·Strong appreciation and well-tuned risk judgement skills – specifically credit and operational

·High level of influencing skills whether with subordinates, peers or stakeholders with the gravitas to operate effectively as a member of ICB MT.

·

·Comfortable drawing out issues and constructively challenging the status quo

·Translate strategic drivers into financial plans

·Educated to degree standard and/or professional qualification equivalent

·Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

·Experience building and driving business strategy, and articulating strategy in written and verbal formats.

·Financial analysis, and business performance management experience.

·Strong conduct, reputational and enterprise risk management experience.
