Job Description
- As an Automation Test Lead at Barclays, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation and excellence within our digital landscape. Your primary responsibility will be to leverage cutting-edge technology to revolutionize our digital offerings, ensuring unparalleled customer experiences. You will act as the bridge between the credit platform, IT department, and business users, acclimatizing the credit platform into the overall IT infrastructure.
Your role as a member of the Automation Test Lead team will require you to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the underlying technologies and business processes of our applications and systems. You will focus on creating, maintaining, and executing automation tests as part of an increasingly agile delivery model. Additionally, you will take ownership of integration testing and integration test phases required with upstream and downstream applications.
To be successful in this role, you should have experience in working closely with Engineering and Analysis Teams to develop and execute End to End Automation, including Non-Functional aspects. You will be responsible for defining Test automation Strategy and ensuring the delivery of the Test Automation aspect of a project from business case through to closure. Your responsibilities will also include authoring test completion reports, raising and tracking defects, guiding and managing the team for high-quality releases, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Some highly valued skills for this role include having a degree level education, preferably in BE/MBA/CA, excellent command of the English language, Test Automation experience (preferably within a Java framework), working knowledge of SQL, continuous integration and source control systems, and a strong understanding of capital markets, products, and banking processes. Possessing an ISTQB Intermediate Level certification and knowledge of investment banking products will be advantageous.
Your key accountabilities will involve developing and implementing comprehensive test plans and strategies, creating and executing automated test scripts, collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting root cause analysis for defects, and promoting a culture of technical excellence and growth within the organization.
