Job Description
- Join us as a Test Architect Vice President at Barclays, where we are more than a bank - we are a force for progress and help craft innovative solutions. As a Test Architect Vice President, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe agile tribe maturity model to ensure testing efficiency through driving shift left with automation, service virtualization, and more. Your role is pivotal in leading a team of quality assurance engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and implementing best practices in automated testing to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in our quality assurance processes.
To be successful as a Test Architect Vice President, you should have experience with:
- Strong understanding and experience of safe agile Tribe Maturity Model.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in automation testing tools like Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Appium, Seetest, etc.
- Test Efficiency: Ability to drive left shift, test automation, and service virtualization.
- Test Strategy Development: Designing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive test strategies, including automated test scripts and test frameworks.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills to analyze complex software systems and develop effective testing strategies.
Additionally, highly valued skills may include:
- Cloud Platforms familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Performance Testing knowledge of tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Agile Methodologies experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Security Testing principles and tools understanding.
- Database Management experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Skills in scripting for automation/migration tasks and excellent interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration and mentoring junior team members.
- Experience with PaaS products and knowledge of container orchestration/management using platforms like Red Hat OpenShift, VMWare, AWS, Azure is preferred.
The position requires strong collaboration skills with executives and cross-functional teams, along with the ability to communicate technical and business concepts to diverse audiences.

- Developing and implementing comprehensive test plans and strategies.
- Creating and executing automated test scripts.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements.
- Root cause analysis for identified defects and promoting a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Staying informed of industry technology trends and actively contributing to the organization's technology communities.
