Job Description
- As a Product Control CoE Vice President at Barclays, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future by managing the Line Product Control team. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring the completeness and accuracy of books and records, including P&L and Balance Sheet substantiation and reporting. You will oversee multiple projects that align with Product Control/Desk strategy, driving efficiency in the ways of working.
To excel in this role, you should possess product control experience in an Investment bank, a deep understanding of financial products and markets relevant to the asset class, and knowledge of end-to-end processes in Investment Banking along with associated controls. Strong communication and presentation skills are crucial for interacting with global teams and stakeholders, and excellent time management and prioritization abilities are essential.
Preferred qualifications for this role may include a CFA, Masters in Finance, or Financial Engineering, along with good control awareness and problem-solving skills. You should be capable of working independently with various stakeholders, from junior finance staff to business heads.
In this role based in Chennai, IN, you will oversee the financial aspects of trading activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. Your key responsibilities will include reconciling daily P&L figures, supporting risk identification and mitigation, analyzing trading data, preparing regulatory reports, and effectively communicating financial information to stakeholders.
As a Vice President, you are expected to contribute to strategy setting, resource planning, and policy management. If in a leadership role, you will demonstrate leadership behaviours to create an environment for colleagues to thrive. For individual contributors, you will be a subject matter expert guiding technical direction and leading collaborative assignments.
Collaboration with key stakeholders, risk management, and strengthening controls are essential aspects of this role.
