The Application Development team in Pune predominantly supports the International Private Bank business and operations teams situated in UK, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the latest Avaloq technology and its satellite interfaces to assist Barclays Wealth to expand further into these international areas.





    • Will be responsible for liaising with teams in Geneva, London, Singapore and India






    • Responsible for day to day delivery of software delivery services with appropriate documentation and checks in support of Wealth Management International & UK projects for the Global Avaloq platform and up- & down-stream systems.




What will you be doing?



  • Plan, coordinate and supervise all activities related to the scoping, through to deployment of releases into production, with line of sight on the impacts and implication to front to back customer journeys/business services

  • Liaise with project / product managers, keeping them updated on release progress against milestones, risks, issues and finances.

  • Planning release management schedule and responsibilities for the platform in advance for an 18-24 month roadmap.

  • Liaise with Delivery Teams, Configuration Management , Quality Adherence Team, Infrastructure, RTB teams, Other technology platform teams to meet project/release schedule(s) (Ad Hoc, Weekly or Monthly) and ensure consistency between releases into SIT, UAT, DR and Live

  • Tracking changes and enforcing adherence to the development processes and audit controls.

  • Proactively quantifying and managing delivery-related risks and issues, liaise/escalate to relevant stakeholders and ensure follow-up to rectify problems

  • Ownership of managing the releases on Service First, good understanding of ITIL processes.



What we’re looking for:



  • Work experience as Release Manager in a complex organization (multi-stream cross locations development projects)

  • Analytical Skills as well as strong problem solving skills

  • Expert knowledge of release management software Agile Central , JIRA, Servicefirst, ICE.. This includes the ability to put in place these types of tools, the related processes and best practices.

  • Knowledge of SQL / SQL+ / SQL Developer and TOAD, Oracle DB administration, Windows and UNIX will be a good plus.

  • Experience with Avaloq would be a strong plus

  • Capacity to stand ground as a gatekeeper for software quality, while remaining solution oriented

  • Able to work both independently and within a team environment as well as leading resources within the team to excellence

  • Software development and delivery methodologies e.g. Agile, Scrum, Lean

  • Experience of influencing and managing business and technology stakeholders



Skills that will help you in the role:



  • Masters or Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Computer Science/Engineering)

  • Prior Release Management experience

  • Must be able to demonstrate participation in full product development life cycle.

  • Work experience in the financial industry preferred.
