Risk and Control Objective
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.

Introduction:
- A Risk Analyst is responsible for ensuring credit underwriting decisions across our SME Card & Payments portfolio are made in a timely and robust way and ensuring all possible financial or reputational risks to the business are mitigated. You will also identify, support and drive forward policy changes, process improvements and may challenge procedures; thus resulting in business requirements being met along with Customer and Client satisfaction.
- The role demands frequent contact with key stakeholders such as account managers, sales centre staff, and branch colleagues. Individuals must be committed to providing a first class service to both internal and external customers. This is a fast moving risk function with a strong focus on preventing loss whilst adhering to service level demands.
What will you be doing?
- Assess new application scorecard referrals across our Card & Payments portfolio
- Review existing facilities throughout the product lifecycle including referrals for limit increases, declined application appeals and limit decrease appeals
- To work effectively as part of a team & collaborate with others in and around the department to improve performance and standards
- To deal with and resolve customer queries/complaints as a result of our actions
- To use a multitude of information sources to make a decision on a case in a timely manner
- Work to ensure that losses are within appetite and budget.
- Able to address and escalate issues to achieve the best possible outcome for the customer and the business in line with regulation, policy and best practice
- Proven organisational skills
- Effective communication skills
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills
- A working knowledge of Risk practices
- Experience of working within a risk/fraud/intelligence environment(s)
- Ability to make decisions at speed
