Job Description
- As a Production Representative at Bayer, you will be accountable and responsible for producing seeds to achieve expected yield, quality, and cost at the right time. Your main focus will be on delivering reliable seed from the field to the plant. You will also be managing professional relationships with growers, labor contractors, and internal teams, ensuring safety and compliance, and proposing and obtaining approvals on grower pricing and contract guidelines and strategies.
Your tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the grower selection process and ensuring higher production reliability by conducting background checks, reviewing previous performance, evaluating production area suitability, and more.
- Coordinating prework before each production cycle and supporting activities such as seed shipment, trials, harvesting, and transportation.
- Conducting field visits at various growth stages to monitor crop development, provide advice to growers, and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Developing expertise in pesticides, fungicides, and fertilizers, reducing dependency on external sources, and ensuring timely grower settlements.
- Collaborating with various teams to drive innovation and compliance in operations.
- Providing support for operational activities during the offseason if required.
You should have a B.S. degree or High school diploma (MS or MBA preferred) with at least 3 years of experience in the seed industry. Excellent communication skills, team leadership experience, and proficiency in English are required. You should also demonstrate the ability to influence all levels of the organization, focus on customer needs, and implement best practices. Moreover, you should be results-oriented, possess negotiation skills, and be adept at utilizing digital tools.
