We are seeking a talented and motivated System Admin _UNIX to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of system administration tasks for AIX operating system and event/ incident management with strong communication skills and willingness to work in a 24/7 environment in rotational shifts. This role will require a strict adherence to best practices as our systems are required to be highly available, scalable, and secure. A focus on system availability, system reliability, and maintainability is critical for success of the BetaNXT business. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, contributing to the optimization and enhancement of our IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, administer and support virtualized AIX servers (Power frame hardware)
• Help manage associated SAN environment
• 
  Work with OEM for troubleshooting as required
• Maintain security and process awareness and work to increase compliance
• Perform system upgrades such as OS and security patch installation
• Participate in team on call rotation
• Monitor servers and systems availability, troubleshoot incoming tickets and alerts, and resolve or escalate issues.
• Communicate effectively with customers and all levels of the organization.
• Problem Solving: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to network performance, system alerts, and other IT infrastructure challenges.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to document resolution and convert them into Knowledge articles/ known errors
• Identify Event trends from reports and dashboards.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to propose and implement innovative solutions that enhance our observability capabilities.
• Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of configurations, procedures, and processes to ensure processes and tools are well documented.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in engineering/ technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of system administration experience supporting AIX server operating systems, preferably in enterprise product support.
• Solid understanding of networking principles, including TCP, DNS, DHCP.
• Knowledge of SAN storage preferred.
• Any related technical certification is a plus
• Awareness to ITIL framework is a plus
• Exposure to tools like ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, Remedy, SolarWinds, Control-M, CheckMK, Dynatrace, Putty, etc. is a plus
• ITIL Foundation certification is preferred.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
