Job Description
- Trading Connectivity & Liquidity (TCL) is an engineering group at Bloomberg that serves as a center of excellence for enabling transactional connectivity between Bloomberg's order and execution management systems and global exchanges, as well as managing internal connectivity.
The Config Infra team within TCL is responsible for configuring FIX sessions and supporting application-specific setups such as FIX servers, DX Gateways, and ETN applications. The team's focus lies in building robust tools to create, manage, and deploy these configurations efficiently.
The team takes pride in full product ownership, from design to deployment, and is seeking passionate engineers who are curious, collaborative, and excited to solve complex problems with innovative tools and business models.

The vision is to evolve the current configuration management system into a Generic Configuration Management platform that serves as a unified foundation across multiple products and teams. By re-architecting the system with flexibility and reusability at its core, the aim is to reduce duplication, accelerate integration, and enable consistent, scalable configuration management enterprise-wide.
You will:
- Be part of re-architecting a core system that will power configuration across multiple Bloomberg products and services
- Solve real-world engineering challenges involving modular design, scalable APIs, secure storage, and cross-system integration
- Gain deep hands-on experience with microservices architecture, event-driven systems, secure secrets and config storage, schema-driven APIs, and validation frameworks
- Build a generic, reusable framework that empowers teams across the organization
- Implement fine-grained access control, full audit trails, and resilient failover strategies
- Collaborate across teams and influence technical standards and architecture decisions
The full-stack technology suite includes back-end services integrating the configure, monitor, and deploy workflows and front-end tools for client-facing support teams and for clients themselves.

You'll need to have:
- 5+ years of professional programming experience in C++ and Python
- Proficiency in system design, architecture, and development of high-quality, modular, stable, and scalable software
- A passion for software engineering and solving complex problems
- A desire to write quality software and leave code in a better state than you found it
