Boba Bhai - Financial Controller

Role Overview:
The Financial Controller will be a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for owning the end-to-end financial management of the organization. This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role that demands both strategic acumen and deep operational command of finance across a multi-outlet, multi-entity F&B business.
You will build and lead the finance function, establish robust controls and reporting frameworks, manage statutory and regulatory compliance, and serve as the primary financial partner to the CEO. The role requires someone who can operate at pace, balancing the demands of a fast-scaling business with the rigor of institutional finance governance.
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Own the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning process across all business units and geographies.
- Develop and maintain robust MIS reporting frameworks - including outlet-level P&Ls, consolidated financials, and Board-level dashboards.
- Provide actionable variance analysis (budget vs. actuals) with meaningful commentary for leadership review.
- Lead scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decision-making around expansion, capex, and new format launches.
Accounting, Controllership & Compliance:

- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with Ind AS / GAAP standards.
- Manage statutory audits, internal audits, and tax assessments; liaise with Big 4 / mid-tier audit firms.
- Ensure full compliance with GST, TDS, PF, ESIC, FSSAI, Shops & Establishments, and other applicable regulations.
- Establish and enforce internal financial controls, standard operating procedures, and delegation of authority matrices.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, vendor reconciliations, and cash flow management across all outlets.
Multi-Outlet Finance Operations:
- Design and implement scalable finance processes suited to a high-volume, multi-location F&B business model.
- Monitor outlet-level unit economics including AUV, food cost %, labor cost %, EBITDA per outlet, and contribution margins.
- Oversee POS-to-book reconciliations, aggregator payouts (Swiggy / Zomato), and cash management at the store level.
- Partner with supply chain and procurement teams to manage COGS, vendor contracts, and food cost controls.
- Track and manage capex deployment for new outlet openings, fit-outs, and kitchen infrastructure.
Treasury, Banking & Fundraising Support:
- Manage banking relationships, working capital facilities, and cash flow forecasting across the group.
- Support fundraising, investor reporting, and due diligence processes for equity or debt transactions.
- Prepare investor-grade financial presentations, data rooms, and financial models for growth capital discussions.
Team Leadership & Systems:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team of 35 professionals across accounting, FP&A, and compliance functions.
- Drive adoption of ERP / accounting systems (Zoho Books, SAP, Tally, or equivalent) and BI tools for financial reporting.
- Establish a culture of financial discipline, accuracy, and accountability across the organization.
