Job Description
BCG’s Middle East (ME) real estate portfolio spans over 4 cities with currently 5 offices across BCG’s consulting, alternative business models, and specialty functions in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. We experience significant real estate activity as we grow and migrate toward a new workplace strategy, continuously evolving and innovating our portfolio to support new ways of working.
The ME Real Estate Project Manager will be responsible for all active projects within the ME real estate portfolio, coordinating the day-to-day aspects of project delivery and working alongside the EMESA Real Estate Director and the Program Director overseeing the ME. In this role, the ME Real Estate Project Manager will manage end-to-end the lease and build out activities of new locations and renovations of current offices. The role will be embedded within and work closely with the Global Real Estate EMESA regional team to ensure consistency in service delivery, vendor management and client engagement. In addition to office space related activities, the role will support temporary accommodation for consultants on projects in remote locations as well as temporary accommodation for transferring staff (identification, security, lease negotiation etc.).
The ME Real Estate Project Manager will be a member of the Global Real Estate service line with a link into BCGs ME Operations Director to ensure there is local support and affiliation.
In assuming the responsibilities outlined above, the specific tasks of this role include the following:
- Assuming project ownership for specific ME real estate projects end-to-end (lease, design and buildout), leveraging expertise from the Global Real Estate service line
- Selecting and managing all external consultants, e.g., broker, architect, technical project manager
- Interfacing as contact for senior leadership as well as other functions, in particular Finance
- Preparing and managing steering committee discussions with local office and ME leadership
- Managing staff engagement for change management and to inform individual local business needs
You’re an excellent communicator. You’ll have frequent interactions with all levels of BCG stakeholders, including senior management. You’re an expert in project management and have a real passion for real estate projects.
Specifically, the following skills are required:
- Very strong project management skills in a large commercial real estate project context
- Influence without authority, ability to align stakeholders’ interests in real estate decision-making
- Strong communication skills to advise senior stakeholders throughout the real estate life cycle
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with proactive drive toward solutions
- Strong negotiation skills with high degree of cultural awareness to make negotiations and day-to-day interactions a success in the context of where the work is performed
- Experience working in complex team settings with diverging interests
- Considerable resilience and flexibility
- Ability to balance large concurrent projects running at different life cycle stages
- Ability to take holistic view on end-to-end real estate lifecycle with a passion for understanding dependencies between the various disciplines and minimizing the resulting complexity

- Ability to anticipate challenges and roadblocks before they occur

- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent); master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of ~ 8 years of professional experience with at least 5 years of relevant real estate experience
- Fluent in English (Arabic as advantage but no requirement)
- Extensive project management experience in leading and influencing internal and external stakeholders
- Advanced skills in creating MS PowerPoint presentations and MS Excel spreadsheets
- Experience working with integrated project management tools and system solutions to manage cost, time, and budget
- Some in-depth experience in interior design and architectural workflows
You will report into our Global Real Estate Director for EMESA and work with the overall ME Operations Team, i.e., our Office Managers as well as our Safety and Security Managers.
You will interact and work closely with ME Finance, HR and Operations as well as senior leadership at a system level, i.e., Office Leaders at the respective office locations and local Managing Directors and Partners involved in the respective project.
As a member of the Global Real Estate service line, BCG’s growing in-house corporate real estate unit, you will have access to a broad set of real estate best-practices and a toolbox. Your opinion matters and you will, hence, contribute to the continuous evolution of our real estate and workplace strategy through the lessons learned on your projects. The Global Real Estate team’s capabilities integrate transaction management, capital projects, workplace experience, portfolio strategy, and portfolio analysis. A truly global team, of currently around 35 employees, works in a highly collaborative, strategic, and solution-oriented manner. The team is based out of Boston, London, Munich, Madrid, New Delhi, and Singapore
