Product Portfolio - General Consumables & Disposables
The business portfolio includes a wide range of healthcare consumables and disposable products such as:
- General Hospital Consumables - Syringes, needles, IV sets, catheters, infusion products, surgical gloves
- Wound Care & Dressing Materials - Gauze, cotton, bandages, tapes, dressings, surgical sutures
- Surgical Disposables - Face masks, caps, gowns, shoe covers, drapes
- Infection Control Products - Sanitizers, disinfectants, cleaning consumables
- Laboratory Consumables - Test tubes, pipettes, swabs, vacutainers, slides
- Other routine medical disposables used across OPD, IPD, ICU, and OT environments
Role Purpose
The General Manager - Consumables & Disposables (C&D) will be responsible for driving the overall business growth, sales strategy, profitability, and market expansion for the consumables vertical across assigned regions or PAN India operations. The role requires strong leadership in sales, channel management, key account handling, and business development within the healthcare consumables segment.
The incumbent will play a critical role in scaling revenue, strengthening customer relationships, improving market penetration, and building a high-performance sales organization.


Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Strategy
- Drive overall revenue growth and profitability for the Consumables & Disposables business vertical.
- Develop and execute strategic business plans for market expansion and product penetration.
- Identify new business opportunities across hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, diagnostic centers, and institutional accounts.
- Develop annual operating plans, sales forecasts, and growth strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
Sales & Key Account Management
- Manage and grow strategic/key healthcare accounts across assigned geographies.
- Build strong relationships with hospital procurement teams, purchase heads, administrators, and decision-makers.
- Ensure achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets along with collection efficiency.
- Lead large institutional negotiations, rate contracts, and tender-based business opportunities.
Team Leadership & Development
- Building a high capable team to scale consumable business
- Lead, mentor, and manage regional sales teams to ensure high productivity and performance.
- Build a strong sales culture focused on customer engagement, execution excellence, and target achievement.
- Monitor team performance through regular reviews, coaching, and capability development initiatives.
Market Intelligence & Operational Excellence
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, pricing strategies, and customer requirements.
- Work closely with supply chain, product management, operations, and finance teams for smooth execution.
- Ensure effective inventory planning and availability of fast-moving consumable products.
- Drive CRM discipline, sales reporting, pipeline management, and MIS accuracy.

- Collaborate with internal leadership teams for strategic planning and business reviews.
- Strengthen relationships with manufacturers, channel partners, and institutional buyers.
- Represent Medikabazaar in industry forums, conferences, and healthcare networking events.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Science / Pharmacy / Business Administration.
- MBA preferred.
- 15 + years of experience in medical consumables, disposables, healthcare distribution, or allied healthcare products.
- Proven leadership experience in managing large sales teams and institutional business.
- Strong network within hospitals, healthcare institutions, and procurement ecosystem preferred.
- Demonstrated success in achieving aggressive business growth and revenue targets.
