Role Description:

We are building our ESG advisory practice to assist clients in addressing their sustainability and risk management requirements. Youll be an integral part of this practice (spanning ESG reporting, decarbonization strategies, risk management, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement) and should possess excellent ESG expertise, communication, facilitation, relationship-building, and presentation skills. You will be responsible for delivering insightful and practical solutions to complex client problems, ensuring alignment with global ESG frameworks (such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, CSRD, IFRS, and BRSR) and staying abreast of emerging trends in sustainability and climate risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead a team to develop and implement sustainability, decarbonization, and risk management strategies for clients.

Serve as a subject matter expert on global ESG reporting and risk management for clients, ensuring alignment with various frameworks (including SEC, CSRD) and monitoring associated trends.

Partner cross-functionally with client stakeholders to drive strategic ESG and risk initiatives.

Develop and update ESG and risk-related accounting/reporting policies for clients, ensuring comprehensive guidelines for their teams.

Establish governance, control frameworks, and risk management processes for clients that comply with relevant ESG standards and regulations.

Implement and maintain ESG and risk internal control programs for clients, including process mapping, risk assessment, and control evaluation.

Coordinate with internal and external auditors for ESG and risk reporting oversight and assurance.

Stay abreast of changes in ESG regulations, standards, and risk management practices, ensuring clients are informed and compliant.

Identify and implement continuous improvements to ESG and risk reporting processes, controls, and systems for clients.

Technical Aspects:

Advanced proficiency in ESG reporting frameworks such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, CSRD, IFRS and BRSR.

Ability to lead materiality assessments and stakeholder engagement processes and decarbonization strategies, climate risk assessment methodologies, including Scope 1-3 emissions reduction planning, carbon footprint analysis, and climate scenario modeling (e.g., TCFD-aligned assessments)

Proficiency in conducting life cycle assessments (LCA) and environmental impact assessments.

In-depth knowledge of sustainability metrics and risk management principles.

Experience in sustainability and integrated report writing

Proven track record in managing rating disclosures for CDP, DJSI, EcoVadis, and Sustainalytics.

Basic Qualifications & Preferred Skills:

Bachelors /Masters degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or a related field. A Masters degree or professional certifications in sustainability or ESG is a plus.

Minimum of 8-9 years of professional experience in ESG consulting or a related field, with a proven track record in project management and team leadership.

In-depth understanding of global ESG trends, frameworks, standards, regulatory environments, and risk management principles.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.

Experience in developing sustainability, operational excellence, and risk management solutions, and supporting business programs to achieve ESG and risk management aims.

Familiarity with climate disclosures, carbon measurement, reduction strategies, and risk analysis tools.

Proficiency in sourcing, compiling, interpreting, and analyzing complex ESG and risk data.

Proficient in systems/tools for ESG and risk data collection, analysis, and reporting, and prior experience with ESG and risk data management systems.
