Role: - Power BI Developer

Location: - Dubai

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Key accountabilities are areas of responsibility that are essential of the position

1. Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets.
2. Integrate data from Azure (e.g., Azure SQL, Data Lake, Synapse, Databricks) and AWS (e.g., Redshift, S3, Athena, RDS).
3. Transform and model raw data using Power Query (M) and DAX to support business metrics and KPIs.
4. Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into visual stories.
5. Optimize Power BI datasets and reports for performance and usability.
6. Implement row-level security (RLS)
   
   and govern access to sensitive information.
7. Automate report publishing, refresh schedules, and manage workspaces using Power BI Service and Power BI Gateways.
8. Participate in data quality validation and ensure reporting accuracy across sources.

Stay up-to-date with new features in Power BI, Azure, and AWS that could enhance reporting capabilities.

Experience Required

• 510 years of experience building reports and dashboards in Power BI.
• Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling techniques.
• Experience connecting Power BI to cloud data sources:
• Azure: Azure SQL DB, Azure Data Lake, Synapse, ADF
• AWS: Redshift, Athena, S3, RDS
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehousing concepts

• Experience with Power BI Service features including gateways, workspace management, and refresh schedules.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate).
• Exposure to CI/CD for Power BI (using Azure DevOps).
• Familiarity with data governance and security frameworks in cloud platforms.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Education & Certifications:

Bachelors or master s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
