Application Engineer - Consultant

an experienced Application Engineer Consultant to join our team, enhance our Energy Audit & System
Integration (EASI) software, and support our product and sales teams.
Position Overview
The Application Engineer Consultant will collaborate closely with our software engineers, hardware
engineers, product teams, and sales professionals to refine and expand BoxPowers EASI software
capabilities. This role will be pivotal in bridging technical expertise with customer-facing activities to
ensure seamless product development and deployment.
Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software engineers to define and prioritize feature development, ensuring
  

alignment with business goals.

• Define clear product requirements, use cases, and technical specifications for software
  

enhancements.

• Work closely with hardware engineers and product teams to understand technical specifications
  

for product components and their integration into EASI.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for new software features introduced.
  
• Assist the sales team by providing technical insights and product expertise for Requests for
  

Proposals (RFPs).

• Participate in sales calls, clearly explaining microgrid design recommendations and software
  

functionality to potential customers.

• Conduct demos of the EASI software to potential customers and stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for upgrading the EASI software through new feature integrations.
• Develop algorithms or pseudo-code to clearly communicate feature implementations to software
  

engineers.

• Occasionally contribute frontend or backend code to accelerate feature development.
• Support the sales team by performing energy audits and microgrid modeling using existing
  

industry-standard tools (HOMER, ETB) or by developing new analytical tools.
Qualifications

• Proven experience in application engineering, software development, or a similar role.
• Experience with microgrid systems, renewable energy technologies, and associated software
  

tools.

• Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable development plans and clear
  

customer communications.

• Familiarity with energy modeling software such as HOMER or ETB preferred.
• Solid understanding of both frontend and backend software development processes, including the
  

ability to contribute code when necessary.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with proven experience supporting sales or
  

customer-facing technical roles.
