Job Purpose:

The Senior Data Analyst works under Reporting and Analytics management lead. At the core of this role, is your ability to understand business requirements, from multiple stakeholder groups and look for opportunities to utilize data sources, data points and data systems to drive efficiency and value-leveraging data. Utilize business processes, business improvements, documents, and systems to perform analysis, and data quality reviews to support the increasing visibility into our efficiency and quality of service.

In addition to working with stakeholders to provide data reports and visualization, you will need to be self-driven to identify areas of weakness or gaps in the data that others may not be aware of or focusing on. You will need to understand the business processes and tools that create the data reports and reverse engineer what the data is saying about the process. You will be expected to succinctly appraise, present, lead, train and update multiple stakeholders at all levels in the business up to the executive level of you projects and outputs at a regular cadence.

All tasks should be performed in accordance with corporate quality standards, SOPs/Work Instructions/Guidelines, ICH-GCP and/or other international regulatory requirements.

Key Accountability

Data Verification (quality monitoring)

• Provide businesses with data, reports, and insight necessary to make informed decisions.
• Identify any needs for additional or non-standard work within the business.
• Curate and clean data to ensure output is accurate and insightful.

Data visualization:

Facilitating understanding of data by displaying concepts, ideas, and facts using graphical representations.

• condensing and encapsulating data characteristics, making it easier to surface opportunities, identify risks, analyze trends, and drive effective decision-making.
• Presenting findings and data insights in creative ways to facilitate the understanding of data across a range of technical and non-technical audiences.
• Applies a variety of visualization techniques and designs the content and appearance of data visuals.
• Operationalizes and automates activities for efficient and timely production of data visuals.
• Selects appropriate visualization approaches from a range of applicable options.
• Contributes to exploration and experimentation in data visualization.

Data science:

Applying mathematics, statistics, data mining, and predictive modeling techniques to gain insights, predict behaviors, and generate value from data.

• Investigates the described problem and dataset to assess the usefulness of data science and analytics solutions.
• Applies a range of data science techniques and uses specialized programming languages. Understands and applies rules and guidelines specific to the industry, and anticipates risks and other implications of modeling.
• Selects, acquires, and integrates data for analysis. Develops data hypotheses and methods and evaluates analytics models. Advises on the effectiveness of specific techniques based on project findings and comprehensive research.
• Contributes to the development, evaluation, monitoring, and deployment of data science solutions.

Data modeling and design:

Developing models and diagrams to represent and communicate data requirements and data assets.

• Investigates enterprise data requirements where there is some complexity and ambiguity.
• Plans own data modeling and design activities, selecting appropriate techniques and the correct level of detail for meeting assigned objectives.
• Provides advice and guidance to others using the data structures and associated components.

Data management:

Developing and implementing plans, policies, and practices that control, protect, and optimize the value of data assets.

• Devices and implements master data management processes for specific subsets of data.
• Assesses the integrity of data from multiple sources.
• Provides advice on the transformation of data from one format/medium to another. Maintains and implements information handling procedures.
• Enables the availability, integrity, and searchability of information through the application of formal data and metadata structures and protection measures.

Business situation analysis:

Investigates business situations where there is some complexity and ambiguity.

• Adopts a holistic view to identify and analyze problems and opportunities.
• Contributes to the selection of the approach and techniques to be used for business situation analysis.
• Conducts root cause analysis and identifies recommendations for improvements. Engages and collaborates with operational stakeholders.

Data Operations:

• Provide regular and ad hoc reports to businesses based on function or project requirements.
• Support business stakeholders in the generation of reports to support efficient business processes and outlier reviews.
• Ability to interpret concepts, ideas, and data to visualizations that are understood by the business.

• Independently identify gaps/issues/trends through exploratory data analysis
• Use discussions with stakeholders and understanding of existing available data to pull and provide data-driven insights to the business from various systems.

Documentation:

• Maintain all supporting documentation for studies in accordance with SOPs/Regulatory Guidelines/Work Instructions to ensure traceability and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain necessary documentation and instructions on the origination of the data in all reports and visualization including timestamps and version control.
• This includes the documentation of any deviations and dissemination of these to the rest of the project teams.

Knowledge and experience:

• Minimum 6 years of experience in data analysis in a regulated industry.
• Good experience and evidential expertise in PowerBI and SQL.
• Evidence of technical aptitude with awareness/potential prior experience in Microsoft Office Products (advanced Excel and PowerBI).
• Basic understanding/willingness to learn relevant ICH-GCP Guidelines, local regulatory requirements and SOPs, and study-specific procedures.
• Experience using computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to analyze data is desirable.
• Experience using tools to communicate progress to Stakeholders.
• Previous experience relating to Gainsight Salesforce, Planview, Workday, ServiceNow, and JIRA is an advantage.

Education:

• Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline (Math, Science, Engineering, Computing, etc.) or a related study, or equivalent project-related experience
• English: Fluent.
