Role Description

This is a full-time, part-remote, part-work from office role based in Mumbai for a Finance Executive with the following job description / responsibilities.

1) Financial Management:

• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and project-based financial planning specific to design agency operations.
• Ensure proper allocation of resources to various client projects and campaigns.

2) Accounting Activities:

• Maintain accurate records of revenue from multiple clients, including invoicing, tracking payments, and client-wise reconciliation.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable while ensuring timely follow-ups for outstanding invoices.
• Track project expenses to ensure profitability and adherence to budgets.

3) Client Financial Coordination:

• Collaborate with account managers to ensure financial data aligns with client agreements, retainers, or project fees.
• Assist in preparing financial reports for clients, including cost breakdowns and project-wise profitability.

4) Taxation & Compliance:

• Handle GST invoicing for creative services and ensure compliance with regulations applicable to service-based businesses.
• File GST returns and ensure proper ITC (Input Tax Credit) claims specific to design agency services.

5) Payroll & Freelancers Management:

• Process monthly payroll for full-time employees.
• Manage payments for freelance designers, contractors, and vendors while ensuring compliance with TDS regulations.

6) Project-Based Financial Reporting:

• Track revenue and expenses for specific campaigns or design projects, ensuring profitability analysis per project/client.
• Support the leadership team in analyzing the financial impact of pitching new clients or expanding service offerings.

7) Software & Tools Oversight:

• Manage financial tools and software commonly used in the design industry, such as project management systems integrated with accounting tools.

8) Budgeting & Financial Planning:

• Prepare and monitor departmental budgets for design tools, marketing, and creative assets.

• Assist in forecasting revenues based on client pipelines and retainer agreements.

9) Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Coordinate with creative teams to align project budgets with operational expenses.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and clients finance teams for financial reviews.

10) Reporting & Insights:

• Generate MIS (Management Information System) reports specific to client-wise profitability, operational costs, and team utilization rates.
• Provide insights to the management team for pricing strategies, resource allocation, and expense control.

Qualifications

• Experience with Financial Statements and Financial Reporting
• Strong Analytical Skills and an understanding of Finance principles
• Knowledge and experience in Goods and Services Tax (GST) compliance and regulations
• Computer proficiency, particularly in financial software and tools
• Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Prior experience of 3-4 years in a similar role
