Your Role
The SAP Datasphere SME is responsible for architecting, designing, and delivering modern data solutions leveraging SAP Datasphere (formerly SAP Data Warehouse Cloud) along with SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, and broader enterprise data platforms. This role involves leading end to end data strategy, modeling, integration, and governance initiatives while collaborating with business and technical stakeholders.
Solution Architecture & Design
- Lead the design and implementation of SAP Datasphere solutions including data models, semantic modeling, data federation, and virtualization.
- Define architecture for integrating Datasphere with SAP S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), and non SAP systems.
- Design scalable and secure data pipelines using Datasphere Data Builder and Data Integration services.
- Set standards, principles, and best practices for enterprise data architecture in SAP environments.
- Act as the primary technical lead for Datasphere initiatives.
- Conduct requirement gathering workshops with business stakeholders.
- Provide guidance to developers, data modelers, and integration engineers.
- Lead sprint planning, solution reviews, and technical documentation.
- Develop and optimize Analytical, Relational, Dimension, and Fact Models in SAP Datasphere.
- Implement data ingestion from SAP and non-SAP sources using:
- ODP/ODQ
- SAP HANA Cloud
- SAP Data Services
- REST/SOAP APIs
- Ensure data quality, lineage, and metadata management are consistently applied.
- Monitor system performance and optimize models, queries, and integration flows.
- Troubleshoot data loading, transformation, and modeling issues.
- Implement and manage:
- Role-based security
- Data access policies
- Space management & collaboration models
- Ensure compliance with enterprise standards, GDPR, and audit guidelines.
- Work closely with business SMEs, analytics teams, and IT leadership.
- Translate complex data needs into technical specifications.
- Present architectural recommendations and solution roadmaps to senior stakeholders.
Your Skills and Experience
- experienced in SAP data warehousing (BW, BW/4HANA, HANA Native).
- hands on experience with SAP Datasphere.

- Strong expertise in:
- SAP HANA SQL & Calculation Views
- SAP Analytics Cloud integration
- SAP BW data flows (DSO, CompositeProvider, ADSO)
- Data modeling (Star schema, Data Vault concepts preferred)
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (SAP BTP, Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools (BODS, SDI/SDQ, Data Intelligence is a plus).
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder facing abilities.
- Analytical mindset with problem solving skills.
- Ability to drive workshops and provide solution thought leadership.
- SAP Datasphere certification (if available).
- SAP HANA or SAP BW/4HANA certifications.
- Experience in enterprise data strategy, governance, or large digital transformation projects.
- Exposure to machine learning or predictive modeling (bonus).
