Job Title – Senior Finance Analyst
About The Role
The BSO Senior Finance Analyst serves as a subject matter expert within the BSO team, responsible for the accurate and timely execution of complex finance and operational processes supporting the UK Advisory business. This role encompasses end to end management of CRM operations, compliance coordination, invoice processing, accruals management, and data governance, acting as a quality assurance checkpoint and escalation point for the Finance Analyst team.
You will be expected to handle the most complex transactions, mentor junior team members, drive process standardisation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
What Youll Do
- Provide day to day guidance and technical support to Finance Analysts, acting as the first point of escalation for operational queries and process exceptions
- Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures, training materials, and knowledge base documentation
- Identify opportunities for further process automation and system integration to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy
- Participate in SLA performance reviews and contribute insights for service improvement plans
- Exception Handling, Process Escalation & Automation Oversight (Level 1)
- Receive, triage, and resolve Level 1 exceptions escalated by Finance Analysts across CRM operations, compliance, invoicing, and data integrity processes
- Investigate root causes of process exceptions, applying judgement and subject matter expertise to determine the appropriate resolution pathway
- Document exception resolutions and update standard operating procedures where recurring exceptions indicate a gap in process design or guidance
- Escalate unresolved or high risk exceptions to the BSO Operations Manager (Level 2) with a clear summary of the issue, investigation findings, and recommended resolution options
- Maintain the exception log for the team, ensuring all exceptions are recorded, categorised, tracked to resolution, and closed within SLA timelines
- System Integration & Automation Exception Management
- Act as the first line of investigation and resolution for exceptions generated by automated billing and revenue recognition system integrations, including data flow failures between FinishLine, PeopleSoft, and the CRM (Salesforce/ClientIQ)
- Monitor automated process outputs to identify errors, reconciliation mismatches, duplicate entries, or missing data arising from system-to-system integrations
- Investigate and remediate automation exceptions relating to invoice generation, accruals postings, instalment scheduling, intercompany allocations, and revenue recognition entries
- Coordinate with Technology and Finance Systems teams to report integration defects, validate fixes in test environments, and confirm successful reprocessing of failed transactions
- Identify patterns and recurring automation exceptions, conducting root cause analysis and proposing preventative measures or business rule adjustments to the BSO Operations Manager/Team Lead
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) for new or updated system integrations affecting billing and revenue recognition workflows, ensuring exception scenarios are adequately tested before go live
- Maintain a working knowledge of integration logic, data mapping rules, and automation triggers across key finance systems to enable effective first line diagnosis
- Invoice processing accuracy and cycle time (target: 99%+ accuracy, 48hr turnaround)
- CRM data integrity scores from monthly audit reports
- Compliance check completion rate within SLA (target: 100% within agreed timelines)
- Accruals accuracy and timely submission rates
- Level 1 exception resolution rate (target: 90%+ resolved without escalation to Level 2)
- Automation exception identification and remediation turnaround time
- Exception log completeness and categorisation accuracy
- Quality gate pass rate for compliance documentation
- Degree educated in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- 3+ years of experience in finance operations, shared services, or GBS environments with a focus on billing, invoicing, and CRM management

- Proficiency in Salesforce (or equivalent CRM), PeopleSoft, and Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced: pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)
- Solid understanding of Conflict of Interest, AML/KYC compliance processes
- Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Proven ability to investigate and resolve process exceptions, including experience working with system generated errors and reconciliation breaks
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to liaise effectively across functions
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Desirable Requirements
- Experience in commercial real estate or professional services
- Familiarity with FinishLine billing platform and intercompany reconciliation
- Experience mentoring or coaching junior team members
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
- Experience supporting UAT or working with system integration testing for finance platforms
- Understanding of data mapping, automation triggers, and reconciliation logic across ERP and CRM systems
