Job Description
The Microsoft Power BI Platform Administrator will serve as a key member of the operations team and will be focused on supporting Power BI platform. The candidate will be primarily responsible for Premium Capacity administration and Gateway server installation, upgrade, maintenance, administration, content migration and troubleshooting along with other day to day operational activities.
Requirements:
- Actively performs administrative, monitoring and diagnostic functions in the Power BI Service platform ensuring a health environment and smooth operation.
- Monitors Power BI Service and Power BI Gateway performance using audit log data, and analyzes usage data and trends to derive appropriate courses of action to ensure the system is performing optimally
- Power BI Premium/embedded Capacity Utilization Monitoring
- Power BI data model security design and performance tuning
- Monitors the users in the Power BI environment to ensure they are following recommended best practices and policies; and provides feedback to the business community when deviations occur.
- Ensures that the Power BI Service is secured from external intrusions, and that Cendyn’s network is protected from threats potentially exposed through Power BI Service.
- Experience in creating reports, dashboards using Power BI Desktop and Server and maintaining Power BI dashboards on servers.
- Create Workspaces & Publish APPS.
- Install/Upgrade/Maintain PBI Gateway Servers.
- Create /update Gateway connections.
- Audit and perform Capacity maintenance & ensure compliance with platform.
- Redesigning user provisioning scripts to use local groups and to integrate international use cases.
- Enhanced capacity monitoring using Power Shell scripts & Custom API’s.

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree required; CS / MIS preferred.
- 3+ Years Power BI Service, Gateway and Capacity Administration
- 5+ Years’ experience managing and administering software & hardware configurations of enterprise scale software (business intelligence preferred) environments
- Communication skills: It is vital that applicants have exceptional written and spoken communication skills with active listening abilities to contribute in making strategic decisions and advise senior management on specialized technical issues, which will have an impact on the business
- Strong team building skills: it is crucial that they also have team building ability to provide direction for complex projects, mentor junior team members, and communicate the organization’s preferred technologies and frameworks across development teams.
