Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development of critical power electronics hardware, such as traction inverters, DC-DC converters, and onboard chargers. You will not only be a hands-on technical expert but also a guide and mentor for junior engineers, ensuring the team delivers robust, reliable, and high-performance hardware from concept to production.
Technical Execution & Leadership:
- Own the complete hardware development lifecycle for power electronics subsystems, from initial requirements and architecture definition through component selection, design, validation, and production release.
- Lead the design of high-voltage, high-power density circuits, including schematic capture, component selection (e.g., Si/SiC MOSFETs, IGBTs, Gate Drivers, Magnetics, Capacitors), and worst-case circuit analysis.
- Perform critical design calculations for efficiency, thermal performance, stress analysis, and reliability.
- Provide expert guidance and oversight during PCB layout, specifying stack-up, placement, and routing rules for high-power, high-frequency, and mixed-signal circuits.
- Serve as the technical authority for design reviews (schematic, layout, DFMEA), identifying potential risks and ensuring designs meet automotive-grade standards for performance, durability, and EMI/EMC.
- Check for Signal Integrity , Power Integrity , Cross Talks and related parameters in PCB Layout Design
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and interns.
- Develop and document best practices for power electronics design, simulation, and testing to elevate the teams overall capability.
Validation & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Define and execute hardware validation plans (DVP&R), including bench testing, system integration, and environmental/durability testing.
- Collaborate closely with Firmware, Mechanical and Thermal teams to ensure the system is optimized for performance, manufacturability, and cost.
- Lead root cause analysis and troubleshooting for complex hardware issues, driving solutions to closure.
