Job Title: Head - Modern Trade (MT) Business

Role Overview:
Wobble Smartphones, launched by Indkal Technologies, is expanding its presence across India and building a strong omni-channel sales ecosystem. As the smartphone business is currently in a rapid growth and market expansion phase, the Head - Modern Trade will be responsible for developing and scaling the Modern Trade channel including large format retail chains, national retail partners, and organized electronics retailers.
This role will focus on building strategic partnerships, driving revenue growth through organized retail channels, and establishing strong brand visibility across modern trade networks. The position requires a seasoned sales leader with deep expertise in consumer electronics or smartphone modern trade ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Modern Trade Business Strategy
- Define and execute the Modern Trade (MT) strategy for Wobble smartphones across India.
- Build the MT channel from the ground up as the business expands in organized retail.
- Drive revenue growth, market penetration, and brand presence across key MT accounts.
- Develop long-term channel growth plans aligned with the company's smartphone expansion strategy.
2. Key Account Management
- Build and manage relationships with large format retail chains, electronics retailers, and national MT partners.
- Lead strategic negotiations including commercial agreements, trade margins, and promotional programs.
- Ensure strong product availability, display presence, and in-store execution across MT outlets.
3. Channel Expansion & Partnerships
- Identify and onboard new modern trade partners and national retail chains.
- Drive presence across organized electronics retail, multi-brand chains, and online-to-offline retail formats.
- Develop exclusive channel programs and launch strategies for MT partners.
4. Retail Experience & Brand Visibility
- Ensure effective in-store branding, product displays, demo zones, and promoter deployment.
- Work with marketing teams to implement store activations, product launch events, and customer engagement initiatives.
- Drive premium retail experience aligned with smartphone category expectations.
5. Team Leadership & Channel Operations
- Build and lead the Modern Trade sales team including Key Account Managers and MT Sales Executives.
- Establish strong sales governance, performance tracking, and account management frameworks.
- Coordinate with supply chain, marketing, and product teams to ensure smooth channel operations.
6. Business Performance & Analytics
- Monitor sell-in and sell-out performance across MT partners.
- Track retail productivity, store-wise sales performance, and inventory movement.
- Use data insights to optimize assortment planning, pricing strategies, and promotional programs.

Qualification & Experience
1. Bachelor's/Master's degree in Business, Marketing, or related discipline (MBA preferred).
2. 12-18 years of sales experience in smartphones, consumer electronics, or technology products.
3. Proven track record in modern trade or key account management at national level.
4. Strong relationships with large format retail chains and organized electronics retailers will be preferred.
