As part of the wireless access point software team, you will be involved in building a wide range of Wi-Fi access points, including the latest Wi-Fi 7 APs. Your role will encompass platform development from boot loaders to web servers, kernel integration, driver integration, Wi-Fi features, wireless security, BLE radio, and other advanced functions integrated into our products. Your contributions will directly impact connectivity experiences for critical applications worldwide.
As a Senior Wireless Automation Test Engineer, you will be responsible for developing high-performance software for Cisco's wireless platforms. Your focus will be on crafting, designing, implementing, and optimizing features across the wireless stack, and contributing to platform capabilities. You will drive Automated continuous Integration and continuous delivery framework for Cisco Wireless products, collaborating across hardware, firmware, and cloud teams to address real-world wireless challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review product requirements and understand customer use cases
- Assist in designing software functional specifications
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases
- Perform functional, regression, performance, and interoperability testing
- Automate use cases using Python or Ruby
- Analyze and troubleshoot complex wireless networking issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test requirements and quality metrics
- Participate in innovative software test initiatives
- Contribute to automated validation frameworks and test tools for CI/CD and system integration testing
Required Skills:
- 7+ years of experience in software development and testing
- Hands-on experience with Wi-Fi standards and protocols
- Strong networking knowledge and experience with Cisco switches/routers
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience in deploying wireless solutions on cloud platforms

- Knowledge of software development and quality assurance processes
- Familiarity with various operating systems
- Proficiency in using Generative AI tools for development and debugging
- Strong analytical skills and teamwork abilities
Bonus points for:
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP Wireless, CWNA, AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- Experience in customer-facing roles or contributing to standards bodies
- Familiarity with big data analytics, AI/ML-driven network management, IoT connectivity
- Experience with API testing and performance testing of cloud applications
