Private bank UAE team head - Dubai
The private bank UAE team head manages a team of senior professionals targeting ultra high net worth individuals in the UAE market. This role is responsible for driving business growth, managing a team of bankers, and delivering solutions to our clients in collaboration with our global product teams and functions. The job requires a thorough understanding of the strategic direction of the function within the business, combined with a solid conceptual and practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise, and in-depth knowledge of the industry and direct competitors products and services to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires excellent communication skills to influence a wide range of audiences and stakeholders. Develops medium- to long-term plans and executes functional strategies for the market under management, requiring coordination and integration across units.
Responsibilities:
Business development and growth- Grow the existing client business. Thorough knowledge of the relevant market is critical and a track record evidencing the ability to grow such business through a focused and high-quality team.
- Set overall vision and direction for the business, including a market segmentation strategy and a talent strategy.
- Drive revenue and be responsible for the entire teams revenue goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve overall team revenues and growth objectives, and drive initiatives to improve the teams day-to-day operations.
- Proven track record in working with investment products and strategies suitable for ultra high net worth individuals.
- Close interaction with other franchises with the goal of developing mutually beneficial business and client relationships.
- Proven track record with sales management and in-depth understanding of clients businesses and sources of wealth generation.
- Help clients achieve broad financial and investment goals related to the creation, management, and transfer of wealth.
- Develop tailored solutions that address clients unique investment, risk management, and financing or liquidity needs.
- Ensure clients are presented with seamless execution of internal processes and services.
- Coach and guide team members and help them develop and share sales ideas across their and the wider team.
- Help team members in executing their account plans by providing guidance and support on specific deals and clients.
- Identify and attract top banker talent across the industry to join the team.
- Provide ongoing feedback to team members on their performance as well as formal mid-year and year-end reviews.
- Plan and prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly activities to maximize revenue growth and client satisfaction.
- Establish a referral network and gain introductions to potential clients which generate new sales.
- Establish a collaborative culture in the team and always partner with colleagues across the network to leverage capabilities and share expertise.
- Bring together the appropriate product experts to develop long-term solutions that strengthen client relationships with the firm.

- Ensure the team adheres to all regulatory requirements and internal policies and compliance frameworks.
- Manage reputational and operational risks by overseeing adherence to the banks risk management guidelines, identifying, and working on specific queries related to the teams clients.
- Monitor market trends and changes in regulation, partnering with functional teams to secure implementation.
- Develop strong relationships and partner with support functions across the private bank to maintain control, find solutions, and resolve issues.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firms reputation and safeguarding the firm, its clients, and assets.
- Apply sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct, and business practices, escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervising the activity of others and creating accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
- Extensive and proven experience in private banking having covered the ultra high net worth market.
- Extensive experience in working with and/or leading client teams and transactions.
- Demonstrated track record in relationship management.
Education:
Bachelors or university degree; masters degree preferred.
