Aventus are partnered with a semi-government energy/construction company.
As Senior Legal Counsel, you will report directly to the General Counsel, working alongside an existing team of Lawyers and legal support.
The company are involved in the construction of a number of mega projects which include Energy, Utilities and Real Estate Development. Therefore, they need someone who likes variety and can settle into a fast paced legal team.
Responsibilities Overview: Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate complex EPC, O&M, and FIDIC-based contracts for construction and energy projects (including renewables, oil & gas, and utilities)Claims and Dispute Resolution: Manage external counsel through high-value claims (e.g., delays, variations, force majeure) and dispute resolution through UAE courts or arbitration Regulatory and Permitting Compliance: Ensure compliance with construction, environmental, and energy-specific regulations and manage permitting, grid connection, and HSE obligations.Risk Management and Project Support: Advise project and commercial teams across project lifecycles, tendering, development, execution, on contractual and regulatory risks, including international JV arrangements and financing-linked risks.
Experience/Qualifications Required: 7-10 PQE in non-contentious construction and project infrastructure Common Law Qualification UK, US, Aus etc..Experience of energy projects or large-scale real estate developments Experience working for a recognised international law firm
