Job Description
- Establish and scale a new Data Science function, defining tools, frameworks, and best practices from scratch.
- Build predictive and prescriptive models to support investment decision-making, portfolio optimisation, and risk management.
- Design and implement data acquisition, cleansing, and enrichment pipelines for internal and external financial datasets.
- Work closely with investment teams to translate business objectives into analytical and AI/ML solutions.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of data scientists and engineers.
- Ensure all models and analytics meet rigorous governance, compliance, and ethical standards.
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies to drive continuous innovation in the investment analytics space.
The Successful Applicant
- Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
- 12 years combined experience, with at least 7 years of experience in Data Science roles, including leadership in building or scaling teams.
- Proven track record in developing investment analytics, financial modelling, or quantitative research solutions.
- Proficiency in Python, R, or similar languages, and familiarity with relevant ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms and big data tools.
- Strong business acumen in financial services, asset management, or investment strategy.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership.
