Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Trade Spend / Rebate Operations Lead (ideally with a background in CPG or Retail) to act as the domain authority within our organization.
This individual will:
- Partner with CFOs and finance leaders to translate rebate and trade spend challenges into business outcomes.
- Guide internal product, AI, and operations teams to ensure solutions align with the real-world complexities of promotions, deductions, and claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert in rebate and trade spend operations.
- Translate contracts and rebate terms into operational pain points recognized by CFOs.
- Define requirements for automation of rebate logic (tiers, thresholds, accruals, FX).
- Build best practices for reconciliation, deduction validation, and exception handling.
- Provide audit-ready frameworks to meet finance and compliance requirements.
- Support client delivery teams and enable thought leadership in the domain.
Qualifications
- 8 to12 years in CPG, Retail, or related industries, with deep exposure to trade spend, deductions, and rebate management.
- Hands-on experience with rebate agreements, claims validation, and finance operations.
- Familiarity with ERP (SAP, Oracle), TPM tools (Exceedra, Blacksmith, Aforza), and CLM systems.
- Strong understanding of the P&L impact of rebates, accruals, and working capital.
- Excellent communication skills to bridge finance operations and CFO-level discussions.
