Position: Manager/ Senior Manager Payroll
Work Location: Ambattur, Chennai
Shift: Night Shift
Timing: 7:30 PM – 4:30 AM (Monday to Friday)
Work Mode: Fully Onsite (No Hybrid/Remote/WFH)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced US Payroll Manager to lead and manage our payroll operations team. The ideal candidate will have strong end-to-end US payroll process knowledge, exceptional client-handling experience, and proven leadership in managing a team of 10–15 members. This is a critical, onsite-only role that requires a high level of accuracy, ownership, and stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Management
- Oversee complete end-to-end US payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
- Monitor payroll cycles, tax updates, garnishments, deductions, benefits, and adjustments.
- Ensure adherence to US federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 8-15 payroll associates.
- Conduct regular team reviews, performance discussions, and training sessions.
- Allocate work, set expectations, and ensure seamless workflow management across the team.
- Act as the primary point of contact for US clients regarding payroll queries, escalations, and process improvements.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication and service excellence.
- Handle client calls, audits, and compliance queries with professionalism and clarity.

- Ensure payroll processes follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory guidelines.
- Identify gaps and implement improvements for accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HR, Finance, Compliance) for issue resolution.
- 7+ years of experience in US payroll, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong experience handling end-to-end payroll processes.
- Proven experience managing a team of 10–15 members.
- Excellent client-handling, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in night shift and handle US stakeholders effectively.
- Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, tax regulations, and statutory requirements in the US.
- This is not a hybrid/remote/WFH position.
- Mandatory 5 days onsite presence at the Ambattur, Chennai office.
- Should be comfortable working in the 7:30 PM to 4:30 AM shift.
