Job Description
- As a Field Sales Agent at CommuniCare Advantage, a member of CommuniCare Health Services, your role involves ensuring that CommuniCare Medicare Advantage products are the preferred choice for Medicare-eligible individuals in your designated territory. You will utilize a consultative sales approach to promote enrollment in a CommuniCare Medicare plan by presenting product options to potential members, while adhering to Medicare regulations and company policies.
Your responsibilities will include following up on leads, participating in community outreach events targeted at seniors, building relationships, and presenting opportunities to provider groups, hospitals, clinics, and generating leads independently. The objective is to improve access to health insurance by providing education and support to Medicare-eligible individuals through the distribution and presentation of Medicare and related products and educational materials. Additionally, you will conduct enrollment and educational activities to aid in the continuation of health insurance coverage and provide recertification assistance when necessary.
To excel in this role, you must possess a Health Insurance license (required either at the time of hire or within 90 days of hire) and maintain its active status throughout your employment. You should also hold a 2023/2024 AHIP Certification, a Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Previous experience in Medicare, skilled nursing, assisted living, home care, or hospice is preferred. Successful completion of all CommuniCare Advantage training modules, a strong understanding of post-acute and Medicare industry standards, excellent communication skills, proficiency in computer usage, and attention to detail are essential qualifications.
In terms of the work environment, you may be required to work beyond regular hours, including weekends and holidays, and engage in field-based work with occasional overnight travel for assignments. Flexibility in meeting with potential enrollees and their families at convenient times is also expected.

Your job responsibilities will encompass identifying potential enrollees, assessing eligibility for participation in CommuniCare Medicare Advantage programs, understanding and implementing policies related to Medicare programs and enrollment processes, familiarizing enrollees with covered and non-covered benefits, and generating leads in the local community. You will conduct home visits, market CommuniCare products at various locations, assist members in accessing healthcare, participate in telemarketing efforts, attend sales meetings and training programs, and ensure compliance with CMS marketing and sales guidelines, as well as meet established sales goals set by leadership.
