Specialist FAO - GL Specialist

Role Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical General Ledger (GL) Specialist to join our Finance and Accounting Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and driving the month-end and year-end closing processes.

As a key contributor to the Record-to-Report (R2R) cycle, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, perform complex account reconciliations, and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.

Role and Key Responsibilities:

. Own and execute the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities. Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and prepayments with proper documentation.

. Perform regular, detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts (including bank, fixed assets, intercompany, and clearing accounts) to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.

. Oversee fixed asset accounting (capitalization, depreciation, disposals) and manage intercompany transactions, including cross-border reconciliations and netting.

. Assist in the preparation of schedules, variance analyses, and financial statements for internal and external auditors

. Identify opportunities to streamline and automate GL workflows, reduce close cycle times, and improve data accuracy.

Key Skills and knowledge:

. Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. (Professional certifications like CPA, ACCA, or CMA are a plus).

. 3-5 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting, general ledger functions, or a shared services environment.

. Proficiency in enterprise ERP systems such as [SAP / Oracle / NetSuite / Microsoft Dynamics].

. Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, and complex formulas).

. Strong understanding of [US GAAP / IFRS] accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
